Welder

Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for a full-time Welder to work at our Waggaman, LA location. Welders are responsible for receiving the prepared and fitted materials and welding them.

We specialize in the manufacture and distribution of a complete line of pipe hangers and supports for commercial and industrial applications since 1913. With five locations in the U.S and growing., our supports have been specified and installed on major water treatment, pharmaceutical, process piping, petro-chemical, hospitals, and school buildings as well as many other industrial projects throughout the world.

IMMEDIATE INTERVIEWS IF APPLYING IN PERSON MONDAY-THURSDAY 2PM-5PM

Ideal Candidate:

Minimal 3 years experience in MIG/MMA welding process

Candidates must be able to measure quickly and accurately in order to keep scrap at a minimumBe able to read engineering drawingsBe able to stand and work in a warm environment for an 8-hour shiftBe able to work independently and efficientlyBe able to lift and carry heavy objects (over 50 pounds)

Essential Duties:

Grinding and preheating the steel with a torchMoving materials through the operation of cranes and/or forkliftsWelding of components in accordance with weld proceduresPerform visual welding inspectionsUndertake weld qualification tests as requiredAssist the department foreman in meeting production targetsMaintain quality standardsKeep work area clean and orderlyNotify managers concerning any non-conformities and the need for repairs to the facility or equipmentMaintain a healthy and safe working environment
