Job Overview Incumbent provides electrical engineering support in the design, construction, & maintenance of any White Sands Test Facility (WSTF) requirements. Manages electrical design process and orchestrates the planning, design, cost estimating, procurement, and scheduling for projects. Provides recommendations for proposed engineering tests/products/equipment. This exempt position is located at the NASA/White Sands Test Facility in Las Cruces NM. Work Model: Onsite Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Works independently, or with minimal supervision relying heavily on prior professional experience and knowledge of state and local regulations. Will provide guidance and direction to lower-level engineers and may act as lead on projects. Supports electrical high voltage (>25KV), medium voltage (25KV-480V) to low voltage (480V-24V) AC power overhead distribution systems, emergency power systems, motor control, fire protection, lightning protection, arc flash, grounding, security systems, and fire alarm systems. Primary deliverables include scopes of work, specications documents, and cost estimates for future projects. Utilizes professional knowledge of electrical, standard engineering theory and techniques, regulations to perform requirements determinations, technical assistance, and conventional design work. Supports electrical projects during construction including coordinating answers to Requests for Information, Change Orders, and solving problems that arise in the eld. Actively participates in design review committees and processes. Engages engineering support personnel for CADD and GIS support during project development. Serves as electrical engineer-of-record for design documents and reports. Prepares and presents informal and formal presentations to the customers and management. Supports and participates in the company safety program. Performs other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Minimum of fifteen (15) years' experience as a Design Engineer or Requirements Engineer in the field of electrical engineering. Registered as a Professional Engineer in the state of New Mexico or the ability to receive reciprocity within the introductory period. Skill in the use of MS Oce products; Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Standard/Pro at an intermediate level. Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screening as required on the contract. Ability to obtain and maintain the required level clearance. U.S. Citizenship. Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record.
