SUMMARY

Refrigeration Technician Installs, inspects, repairs, and maintains food service, refrigeration, and support equipment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN

Four (4) years experience in food service cooking and/or low temperature refrigeration equipment repair and maintenance, to include electrical, gas and plumbing installation and repair procedures

AND

Completion of a recognized trade training program in a related field or equivalent

Knowledge of applicable County, State, Federal electrical, safety, plumbing, and mechanical codes required.

40CFR Part 82, Subpart F Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification Type I or Type II

Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.

Any equivalent combination of experience, training or education.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Universal CFR certification

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE:

FBI fingerprint background check (at employee's expense) or submission of valid Fingerprint card.

Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization

Post-offer/pre-employment physical examination and 75 lb lift test

AZ Department of Transportation (ADOT) medical certificate

Valid Arizona Driver's license

MVReport - showing no more than the allowable points against Driver's License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees

COMMENTS:

Refrigeration Technician pay range $24.33 to $28.24/hour

Location: Food Services - 2150 East 15th Street

Classification: Blue Collar

FTE: 1.0 FTE - 8 hours per day

Work Calendar: 12 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits

Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.
