Job Type Full-time Description

Performs a variety of professional duties of a technical nature, including developing 1) Developing technical content for use across ICC Solutions, 2) Instructing training courses and developing content for training courses, and 3) Providing technical expertise on consulting projects.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participating and supporting ICC technical consulting projects both domestically and globally.
  • Developing technical content, authoring technical support publications, and training materials for I-Codes/Standards and other related topics.
  • Developing and presenting instructional content for onsite and online courses.
  • Reviewing technical content developed by outside authors and experts.
  • Working with Publishing and Digital Solutions and partner publishers to ensure the accuracy of published technical materials.
  • Making presentations to professional, governmental and community groups on subjects relating to ICC Codes/Standards and technical subjects of the codes.
  • Meeting assigned benchmarks and deadlines throughout project.
  • Representing ICC at meetings and conferences.
  • Serving on internal and external committees as assigned.
  • Serving as a technical resource for other ICC departments, members, and customers.
  • Performing other technical duties as assigned.
Requirements

Essential Skills and Education / Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in architecture, engineering, or construction science
  • ICC Certification in one or more ICC codes is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional and technical experience in a building safety department, related professional association, or building design or construction company.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the International Building Code and International Residential Code is required. Technical knowledge of one or more other ICC codes such as the International Fire Code, International Plumbing Code, International Mechanical Code, International Fuel Gas Code, International Energy Conservation Code, and International Existing Building Code is preferred but not required.
  • Strong technical writing and communication, skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound working knowledge and understanding of construction codes and their application.
  • Approximate Travel 25%
