Job Overview
Reporting to the Manager, as the Plumber Apprentice you will provide plumbing-related assistance to the Journeyperson Plumbers throughout all stages of the building process. You also assist in ensuring the shop and the job sites are clean and well organized.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring shop supplies are stocked and the shop area is well maintained, organized and clean.
- Assisting in determining and preparing materials, equipment and tools required for plumbing activities on a daily basis.
- Ensuring all materials, equipment and tools are accounted for when leaving a work site and are returned to the plumbing shop at the end of each shift.
- Participating in plumbing activities at all stages of the building lifecycle and ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Interpreting drawings to assist in laying out plumbing details.
- Assisting in testing all plumbing installations and reporting any errors.
- Maintaining general awareness and understanding of plumbing codes and regulations.
- Working safely and complying with Qualico’s Safety Program and relevant safety regulations.

Essential Requirements
- High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- Completion of Plumber Apprentice and/or working towards Journeyperson Plumber certification.
- Prior plumbing experience in the Homebuilding industry is required relative to the Apprentice level.
- Knowledge of basic plumbing related tools is an asset.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to reliable vehicle.
- Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
- Physically able to kneel and crouch as well as lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Work Conditions
You primarily work on site during regular business hours. Work has exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust. Overtime may occasionally be required.
