Description
GM2 is seeking a geotechnical engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience for one of our MA, NH locations. The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, have strong leadership and decision-making skills, be highly motivated, responsible, and dependable, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities will include:
Management of geotechnical projects from site investigation through construction
Preparing geotechnical investigation and laboratory testing programs and proposals
Interpreting subsurface conditions based on site investigations and laboratory data
Completing geotechnical engineering analyses
Preparing technical documents including geotechnical reports and specifications
Training, mentoring, and reviewing work of junior staff
Interacting with senior staff and clients

Requirements
Candidates must have a Professional Engineer license in at least one New England state and/or the ability to receive reciprocity and a MS degree with a concentration in geotechnical engineering, and extensive experience in the following:
- Geotechnical field investigations and in-situ testing
- Field observation of earthwork and foundation construction activities
- Determining geotechnical engineering properties of soil and rock
- Geotechnical engineering analyses including slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, soil/structure interaction, and pavement design
- Development of appropriate foundation and site-related geotechnical recommendations
- Preparation of proposals, complex technical reports, specifications, and drawings
- Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and geotechnical analysis software
- Dam safety engineering experience is a plus
