The department is especially interested in candidates with completion of IBEW, IEC (Independent Electrical Contractors), or nationally recognized apprenticeship.

7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
May need to work/travel beyond normal work schedule.
Must be able to respond to after normal hours emergencies.

Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and push or pull up to 250 pounds with appropriate tools or moving equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to dangerous working conditions and occasionally exposed to wet and humid conditions, fumes and airborne particles, close spaces and is required to climb ladders to access equipment in high and/or precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Installs, troubleshoots, maintains and repairs all electrical systems in University buildings. Ensures electrical systems comply with appropriate codes.

Installs, troubleshoots, maintains and repairs indoor/outdoor lighting.

Performs monthly generator inspections of stationary generators. Oversees
preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.

Responds to elevator trouble calls and perform monthly elevators inspections.

Attends various meetings including safety meetings, focus groups, training,
and departmental meetings.

Performs preventative maintenance on electrical equipment, to include preventive maintenance on batteries and coordination with contractors for repairs.

Works with contractors to obtain estimates and evaluations for needed repairs. Estimates
