Our company is structured across 2 divisions – the Display Case Division , located in North Prairie, WI, Waukesha, WI, and Mukwonago, WI and the Refrigeration Systems Division , located in Ramsey, MN and Dyersville, IA.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
The Mechanical Engineer will design and develop complex mechanical plans for production of refrigeration systems for commercial and industrial markets requiring application of standard engineering techniques and procedures. Mechanical engineers will develop refrigeration schematics, size, and select components which make up a complete refrigeration system, compile bill of materials, design the layout of equipment, perform essential calculations to determine required performance, review and interpret customer plans and specifications, and interface with sales, service, production, and outside customers. Engineers must be able to provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing by displaying a hands-on approach.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform the design of refrigeration systems for commercial and industrial environments including chilled water, halocarbon-based systems, Co2, and industrial ammonia refrigeration facilities
- Ability to select, schedule, size and specify system components to include air distribution, air handling, refrigeration, piping, heat exchangers, pumps, piping, and accessories
- Perform heat load calculations to determine facility refrigeration requirements and heat transfer and thermodynamic analysis associated with sizing and selection of refrigeration equipment, piping, and control valves
- Review refrigeration components during the manufacturing process and recommend design modifications as necessary
- Design products and systems to meet requirements of quality, cost effectiveness, energy efficiency, customer requirements, company standards and other predetermined competitive factors
- Work to meet design schedules and complete tasks on budgets
- Interface and communicate with external and internal customers including engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and sales/marketing personnel
- Performs related work as apparent or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- 1+ years of related design and troubleshooting experience
- Project management experience is preferred
- Possess the skills to prioritize assignments and flexibility to adjust to changing priorities based on program needs
- Able to communicate technical solutions and concepts
- Demonstrated skills in continuous learning, flexibility, customer focus, quality commitment and creating relationships are required
- Extensive familiarity and experience required for all Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Outlook, Excel and Word are required
- Some travel may be required (typically less than 10%)
