We are currently seeking an ambitious pace-setter to join our team as a R&D Fabricator , in Logan, UT. This role is a 4-5 month contract opportunity.
ROLE COMMITMENTS
- Fabricate and weld parts to create new designs of exercise machines and associated products
- Set up and operate fabricating machines such as shears, press brakes, iron workers
- Work with mechanical tubing, sheet metal and various mild steel material
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to determine material requirements to complete assigned projects off drawings, blueprints, sketches, or verbal instruction.
- Thorough and demonstrated experience/understanding of design and dimensional characteristics and must have a good mechanical aptitude with ability to develop product concepts.
- Work with mechanical tubing, sheet metal and various mild steel materials. Be able to layout and mark points on parts to fabricate using rule, scribe, square, and measuring instruments to complete parts and assemblies.
- Must be competent with all hand tools such as; grinders, drills, files, squares, calipers, tape measure, levels, micrometers and general shop knowledge pertaining to shop tools and environment.
- Set up and operate fabricating machines such as shears, press brakes, iron workers, tube benders, band saws, plasma, manual mills, lathes, and all common fabrication / machining equipment. 3-5 years experience is a must.
- Must have welding skills with Mig, Tig, and Oxy Acetylene and maintain welding related equipment. Ability to align and fit parts to specific locations for welding checks and review work performed with weldment information to meet assigned schedules.
- Must have experience with mechanical assemblies such as automotive, small engine, motorcycle, or aircraft repair. Autobody and painting is a plus.
- Have the ability to be creative and communicate issues, ideas, and timelines with engineers and designers.
- Must be able to maintain shop tools and equipment as well as follow and promote all safety and shop policies.
- Some off-site work, weekends, and overtime will be required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma , completion of apprenticeship program, trade school
- 5 years of fabrication and welding experience
- Can read welding blueprints, tape measure and do basic math
- Can lift over 50 lbs
- Knowledge and understanding of basic power tools
- Be able to work in a manufacturing environment and able to consistently hit schedule on time with quality work
