Position at JBS USA Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic Shift: 1st Shift. Wage Range: Hourly, $24 to DOE Differential: No Status : Full Time Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor We offer a generous benefits package that includes:

- Reports to Maintenance Supervisor.
- Maintain and repair all production equipment: including, but not limited to, pumps, tumblers, evaporators, dryers, valves, baggers, injectors, slicers, packaging machines, etc.
- Maintain and repair all support equipment: including but not limited to, boiler, air-compressors, condensers, vacuum pumps, air conditioning units, etc.
- Must have a working knowledge of and experience in plant maintenance operations.
- Ordering / maintaining inventories for all parts to service all equipment plant wide.
- Fabrication and manufacturing of equipment for production needs; product and process piping, sanitary equipment, steam lines, chemical lines, pneumatic lines, etc. ensuring such fabrication and manufacturing is in accordance with the applicable safety regulations.
- Documentation of all schematic and diagram changes to keep plant record current.
- Responsible for working with a minimum amount of supervision in all key areas.
- Responsible for care and safe keeping of tools supplied by Sunnyvalley.
- Responsible for reporting on a daily basis work orders and activity reports (all time is to be accountable).
- Required to climb stairs, ladders and work in congested areas.
- Employee will be subject to temperatures ranging from 0 degrees F to 130 degrees F.
- Responsible for all work being done in a timely fashion and done properly
- Follow all company Policies, such as but not limited to: Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safe Quality Foods (SQF), and Safety Rules and procedures
- Must have the ability to get along with co-workers, management personnel, customers, vendors, and employees in accordance with the company policies and working rules while ensuring a harmonious and conducive work environment.
- Must be familiar with equipment and parts used on equipment, including proper name for parts.
- Must have ability to read electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic schematics.
- Must be able to contact technical support for any of our equipment at any given time. When an issue is presented that cannot be identified and fix in-house.
- Must be responsible to follow up with any pending repairs in equipment throughout the plant. And communicate with managements and the rest of the team.
- Must be driven and with a positive attitude towards upcoming projects.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance at work.
- Complete all paperwork neatly and correctly.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Desired but not required bilingual English and Spanish.
- Must be able to work in a safe, quick and efficient manner.
- Must be able to read and understand all company rules and GMPs.
- Must be able to work in a safe manner and follow all safety procedures.
- Must be able to work well with other people.
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a forklift operator license.
- Proficient in verbal and written communication skills; Basic computation skills; or one to three months related experience and / or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Has a current forklift operators license or the ability to acquire and maintain required certification.
- Minimum three years experience. High school level graduate required. Verbal and written communication skills and training with emphasis in electronics, instrumentation, refrigeration, electrical, and general mechanical.
- Must have the ability to read and understand written and/or verbal instructions.
- Sitting/Standing/Walking Each workday, the maintenance mechanic will do all three. Must be able to stand on feet for at least a two hour consecutive time period and up to 8-12 hours.
- Lifting/Carrying: Each workday, the maintenance mechanic lifts up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis. He will be expected, each workday to carry 50 pounds on a repetitive basis. Occasional lifting/carrying above 50 pounds may be required as well.
- Pushing/Pulling: Each workday, the maintenance mechanic frequently pushes and pulls up to, but not limited to, 50 pounds in a repetitive manner.
- Bending/Stooping: Each workday, the maintenance mechanic will bend and stoop often.
- Squatting/Kneeling/Crawling: Each workday, the maintenance mechanic will sometimes squat. Occasional kneeling/crawling may be required.
- Twisting/Turning: Each workday, the maintenance mechanic will often twist and turn while carrying
- Climbing/Balancing: Each workday, the maintenance mechanic will occasionally climb and/or balance.
- Reaching: Each workday, the maintenance mechanic will frequently reach in a repetitive manner.
- Grasping/Manipulating: Each workday, the maintenance mechanic will frequently grasp and manipulate in a repetitive manner.
- Work Environment:
- The use of non-slip footwear is necessary due to slippery and wet floors.
- The use of rubber gloves is necessary to preform job functions.
- Constantly subjected to moving mechanical parts.
- An employee may come into contact with the following: ammonia, acids, caustics, chlorines, paints, particles, oils and lubricants, steam, pneumatics, fumes and hazardous gases, sealing compounds.
- Employee will be subject to temperatures ranging from 0 degrees F to 130 degrees F.
- Working area is noisy and may require that hearing protection be worn at all times.
