(Pittsford, NY) 3rd ROC Solar LLC 101 Sullys Trail Ste 20 near Kreag Road compensation: From $22.00 per hour employment type: experience level: mid level job title: Solar Installer As a Solar Installer, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining solar panels and related equipment at customer sites. You will work closely with a team of technicians and engineers to ensure that solar energy systems are installed and functioning properly. You will be responsible for the physical installation of solar panels, wiring, and other components, as well as troubleshooting and repairing any issues that may arise. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all safety protocols are followed. Our solar install teams (3-4 people) install mostly residential & small commercial grid-tied solar throughout the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier. General Requirements: -Ability to lift 50 pounds -Comfortable working on ladders and on roof top surfaces -Work in teaming arrangements -Comfortable with ride sharing -Travel required Key Responsibilities: -Install solar panels, inverters, racking systems, and other equipment at customer sites -Perform electrical work to connect solar panels to electrical systems -Troubleshoot and repair any issues that may arise with solar energy systems -Ensure that all installations are completed on time and within budget -Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment when necessary -Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance -Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and other stakeholders -Continuously learn about new technologies, equipment, and techniques related to solar energy systems -Work flexible hours based on changing conditions -Bring a positive attitude and willingness to create a better future for yourself, your neighbors, and your community -Find joy in the work that we do Qualification requirements: -6+ months of solar installation experience, or similar experience in construction working on a roof -High School Diploma, Equivalent, or Vocational training in a closely related field -Knowledge of electrical and wiring systems -Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents -Physical ability to climb ladders and work at heights -Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently -Excellent communication skills -Valid driver's license, a good driving record and reliable transportation Working Conditions: -Work may be performed both indoors and outdoors, and may require working in extreme weather conditions -Work may involve standing, kneeling, bending, and reaching for extended periods of time -Work may involve heavy lifting and carrying of equipment and materials -Work requires travel to various job sites with a portion of out of state travel occasionally -Work may require flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays -Will involve working on a roof Applying: 3rd ROC Solar LLC is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
