Job Summary:
As a Storm Shelter Installer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and protection of our residential and commercial clients against EF-5 tornadoes. You will be responsible for the delivery, installation, and maintenance of storm shelters at residential and commercial locations. You’ll operate heavy equipment, perform physical tasks, and interact with customers and team members to ensure smooth and safe installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely deliver and install storm shelters according to safety protocols and customer requirements.
- Prepare installation sites, including excavation for in-ground shelters and laying small and large concrete slabs for above-ground units.
- Inspect existing concrete slabs to ensure they meet installation requirements.
- Operate trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment for safe transport and installation.
- Complete and submit all necessary paperwork, including delivery receipts and quality checklists.
- Perform warehouse tasks such as unloading units, inspecting for quality, cleaning, and minor repairs.
- Ensure the warehouse remains organized and clean, including light maintenance tasks.
- Address maintenance and repair needs for already installed shelters.
- Provide detailed job reports, including photos and videos, in a timely manner.
- Follow all safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with company and OSHA standards.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in construction or a similar field.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record and experience driving trucks with trailers.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Willingness to work extended hours, travel, and occasionally work weekends.
- Own basic tools and PPE.
- Reliability, punctuality, and adaptability to changing tasks.
