Estimator – Commercial Construction

Job Description:
Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join a growing team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, analyzing blueprints and specifications, and collaborating with architects, contractors, and project managers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and market pricing to help ensure project profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine the scope of work and materials required.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and other project expenses.
  • Analyze and compile data on construction costs to develop accurate project budgets.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to gather the necessary information for estimating.
  • Assist in value engineering to optimize project costs while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
  • Prepare bid packages and participate in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Monitor and update cost estimates as project requirements change or new information becomes available.
  • Maintain a database of project costs, historical data, and pricing information for future reference.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and materials.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
