Sheet Metal Positions and Responsibilities:

Sheet Metal Technician II

This position has 3 or more years of experience and is considered to have in-depth knowledge of sheet metal and dry side HVAC applications and design. A Sheet Metal Technician II fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs all types of HVAC related sheet metal products and equipment but still requires some assistance and is supervised by a Technician III or above.

• In-depth knowledge of dry-side commercial applications and design.
• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair all types of HVAC related sheet metal products and equipment.
• Document work by completing paperwork and backup documentation.
• Uphold high standards of safety at all times.
• Involves lifting and moving heavy materials, loading and unloading vehicles, digging and refilling holes and other activities as needed.

Sheet Metal Technician III

This position has 5 or more years of experience and is considered to have mastery knowledge of sheet metal and dry side HVAC applications and design. A Sheet Metal Technician III fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs all types of HVAC related sheet metal products and equipment. Technician III also performs equipment startups and check outs.

• In-depth knowledge of dry-side commercial applications and design.
• Fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs all types of HVAC related sheet metal products and equipment.
• Works under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems.
• Documents work by completing paperwork and backup documentation.
• OSHA training; upholds and mentors a high standard of safety at all times.
• Experience with blueprint reading and layout.
• Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
• May act as a lead or first-level supervisor.
• Involves lifting and moving heavy materials, loading and unloading vehicles, digging and refilling holes and other activities as needed.
