Mechanical Design Engineer I

Job Description:
Design of plastic parts for mechanical and electromechanical components and assemblies for automobiles. Job duties include: Create new products and modify existing products to support customers and to meet applicable regulatory and industry standards, and market requirements through the use of CAD modeling techniques. Assist the Materials Department in acquiring quotes for prototype, piece price and tooling based on drawings. Update and maintain drawings of Nidec products based on an engineering change notice initiated by the engineering department. Initiate and promote generation of new ideas and document it for patent applications and IP protection. Analyze drawing models using Unigraphics or Catia, FEA, stress analysis, thermal analysis, dynamic analysis, etc. Prepare, review, and approve design and process documentation. Perform reliability analysis, tolerance stack ups, and Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Create and implement test procedures for products based on product requirements and customer specifications. Monitor testing and analyze data to verify performance of the prototype product to customer and design specifications. Review and approve test reports. Support design reviews, both customer and internal as required. Salary: $114,150/year to $118,150/year. Benefits: insurance, 401(k), PTO, FSA, and HSA.

Job Requirements:
bachelor's or foreign degree equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years of experience as a mechanical engineer, mechanical product engineer or in mechanical engineering. Special skills Experience designing plastic parts of electronic components for automobiles.
