Key Responsibilities
Perform all types of production welding, including tig welding, micro-tig welding, laser welding, torch brazing, and hand soldering on generally thin wall material between .003 and .250 inches thick
Degrease, abrasive blast, buff, grind, drill, cut, and clean components and assemblies using a wide variety of small hand tools and solvents
Perform operations on the lathe, mill and other second operation machine tools to make short run production parts
Assemble and test components and assemblies using hand tools and electronic test instruments, such as ohm meters, dielectric testers, meggers, and millivolt meters
Apply variety of coatings, epoxies, sealants and lubricants, some which require special handling precautions to components, as well as assemblies
Occasionally assemble or spot weld on small parts where the use of a microscope is necessary
Use measuring instruments, such as scales, calipers, micrometers; perform leak test, pressure test, and helium leak tests
Follows safety practices and housekeeping
Maintains quality of product, process and documentation by following established regulations, procedures, instructions and standards
Other duties as required
Educational Requirements
High School diploma or GED
Welding certificate a plus
Desired Background and Skill Requirements
2-5 years of experience or training/specialization in position in a manufacturing environment
Intermediate computer skills required
Possess a working knowledge of welding, welding materials and equipment is necessary
Able to read and follow simple and complex drawings , wiring diagrams, and written procedures
Able to make simple computations using basic math skills and keep simple records
Must have ability to obtain The Company qualification/certification(s) as required
Standing, stooping, or sitting for extended periods up to 2 hours; occasional lifting or pushing to 50 pounds
Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
Lives the continuous improvement philosophy; develops and adopts new ideas and concepts
