General Purpose
This position is responsible for maintaining all electrical systems throughout the airfield, terminal and various properties owned by the airport.

Essential Job Functions
- Maintain airfield lighting distribution equipment and ensure all lighting is in proper working order, in accordance with FAA regulations, per Federal regulation standards.
- Inspect, check, repair and perform preventative maintenance on the following airport facility systems; airfield, terminal, parking garage, electrical vault, maintenance equipment garage, power systems, high voltage runway and taxiway lighting, navigational aids, computerized runway sensor and weather station system, computerized lighting systems, generator back-up systems, computerized heating and air conditioning systems, fire alarm systems, sound systems, clock systems, airfield access security s systems, baggage belts, auto doors, overhead doors.
- Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment.
- Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
- Advises contractors and maintenance workers of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
- Informs appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
- Maintains Airport-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment and systems. Repair equipment owned by tenants.
- Assists in estimating, ordering and installing special electrical systems on construction projects for the airport or tenants.
- Schedule preventative maintenance and acquire required materials and labor. Maintain preventative maintenance records and filing system.
- Participate in planning stages of new airport projects concerning electrical systems.
- Provide information to contractors regarding airfield and building electrical systems.
- Provide dig safe for all airport property to ensure prevention of interruption of existing underground systems. Identify and repair all broken lines during construction projects.
- Perform quality control measures on contracted terminal and airfield construction projects.
- Ensure that all construction projects follow National Electrical Code standards and job specifications.
- Inventory necessary equipment and supplies.
- Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed.
- Assists maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting.
- Assists other maintenance and/or other technical level employees.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Might perform airfield snow removal by operating snow removal equipment as assigned.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements

- High School diploma or equivalent and 3 years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields are required.
- Ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas required.
- Must possess and maintain Vermont State Journeyman License required.
- Must possess Vermont State driver's License.
- Preferred valid CDL Class B.
- Working knowledge of airfield lighting systems and ability to read and interpret blue prints preferred
- Familiarity with computers preferred.
- Strong communication skills required.
- A thorough knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
- Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment, and especially must be able to interface and communicate with line operators in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting.
- Willing to work any shift and overtime as required.
- Computer experience/operation and PLC programming are necessary.
- High degree of precision working with minimum tolerances required.
- Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
- Must be highly safety conscious.
- Exposed to high voltage electricity.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask required.
- Heavy equipment experience preferred.
- Knowledge of heating and air conditioning preferred.
