Pay varies by position and is based on multiple factors including labor market data and, depending on position, may include education, work experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and/or certifications. Additionally, Sportech takes into account the internal equity of current employees when considering compensation. Sportechs reasonable and good-faith estimate for the range of new hire compensation at the time of posting for this position is between $95,000 - $115,000 annually. Pay may also include variable compensation from time to time such as overtime for non-exempt positions, shift differential for specific shifts, and/or bonus targets (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Essential Job Functions
- Leads purchasing team and direct cross-functional team activities.
- Manages and holds team accountable to organization policies and procedures. Coaches, mentors, and develops direct reports.
- Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.
- Designs and executes strategies to maintain optimal stock levels, including safety stock, Kanban-based replenishment, management of discrete and blanket purchase orders, and initiatives to improve inventory turns as needed.
- Develops and communicates performance metrics, leading indicator data and external market factors. Benchmarks and utilizes best practices.
- Optimizes procurement processes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Acts as key escalation point for supplier performance issues, along with determining corrective actions, where appropriate.
- Drafts, explains, and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for the purchasing team
- Conducts periodic reviews of supplier performance and establishes goals for on-time delivery, quality and cost reduction s .
- Collaborates with the planning and production teams to ensure appropriate inventory levels and avoid disruptions, while balancing cost of capital goals.
- Ensures repeatable product quality from supply base with minimal inventory and no disruptions to production.
- Partners with Engineering, Project Management, Sourcing, and Quality to provide project support, timeline execution, reduce overall business costs, and mitigate risk to the organization.
- Creates strategic plans to support new program ramp-ups and develops transition and risk mitigation strategies for end-of-life or sunsetting activities.
- Develops relationships with key suppliers as well as other disciplines within the businesses. Represents the voice of the supplier in the organization.
- Supports grievance resolution with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
- Coordinates supplier visits, as needed, based on vendor performance & upcoming projects or deliverables.
- Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems.

- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors degree in business, economics, supply chain or engineering with minimum of 5-8 years of increasing responsibilities in manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership and leading cross functional teams.
- Ability to manage and develop team members as aligned to Companys core beliefs and values.
- Dependable and highly motivated hands-on leader who thrives in a self-driven, highly accountable work environment.
- Solid coaching, team building, and relationship building skills.
- Demonstrated customer service, problem solving, communication, negotiation, tact, judgment, and organizational skills.
- Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities required.

- Previous experience with raw material procurement processes and supplier performance management programs.
- Microsoft Outlook, Advance Excel skills required, Epicor experience strongly preferred.
- CPM, APICS or other supply chain management certifications are preferred.
- Some travel required.
