- Plan, sequence, setup and perform a variety of operations involved in the layout, fitting, and/or bolting of a variety of assemblies made from pipe assembly.
- Duties require the use of rules, squares, bevels, chalk lines, jigs and fixtures, etc. together with the use of drawings.
- Obtain main material, detail pieces and shop drawings for work as assigned by the supervisor.
- Working from drawings, position and assemble pieces into the correct location and relative configuration as specified.
- Perform necessary layout of material as required.
- Check and inspect parts and pieces for accuracy.
- Grind, etc. as required to achieve correct fit or advise supervisor of pieces, which need to be re-worked.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and errors in drawings. Report questionable cases to supervisor.
- Maintain the work area, tools and equipment in a clean, proper and orderly manner.
- Follow Company quality and quantity work requirements, safety rules and regulations.
- Detect unsafe conditions and behaviors and immediately report to supervisor
- Must be able to pass a 6G 2 Sch. 80 Pipe weld test in the process of SMAW and GTAW
- Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals and processes.
- Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration and adaptability are important.
- Complete and verify that all welds are cleaned, stenciled, and visually inspected.
A welding test is required prior to an offer being extended
- Experience with MIG, TIG, and Stick welding methods
- Experience with cutting and assembling pipe
- Knowledge of properties in various welding rods and fluxes used in welding metal
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
- Ability to work from drawings, submittals and specifications is preferred
- Knowledge of basic construction/shop math (addition, subtraction, division, fraction, and multiplication)
- Ability to read specifications and blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required
- Ability to use equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner

- Ability to work at heights without fear
- Ability to perform on a regular basis in outside weather conditions consisting of wet, hot, humid, and/or freezing temperatures, also contending with dirt and dust
- Must have the ability to work nights, holidays and/or weekends when required
- Must be available for "Call Out", "Emergency," and "Outage" work
