LOCATION: This is a traveling position requiring frequent travel to project sites across the Midwest region. Per diem will be provided.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Tepa Companies are seeking a Plumber who is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground piping systems, including water lines, sewer systems, and related infrastructure on construction project sites.
Job Functions:
- Install, maintain, and repair underground water and sewer piping systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to determine the layout and routing of pipes.
- Operate heavy equipment and tools to dig trenches, lay pipes, and backfill excavated areas.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal plumbing codes and regulations.
- Inspect existing underground plumbing systems for issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other tradespeople on-site.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following safety protocols and guidelines.
- Document work completed and report progress to supervisors or project managers.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or plumbing certification preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in underground plumbing or utility installation.
- Experience with excavation, trenching, and working with a variety of pipe materials in compliance with safety and building codes.
- Valid plumbing license (if required by state or municipality).
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in underground utility work.
- Ability to read construction drawings and interpret utility markings.
- Physically fit and able to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
- Must possess a valid driver's license; CDL a plus.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Ability to get badged on Military Facilities, if required.
- Ability to work out of town.
