Production Operator- 1st Shift

Position Summary:

Measure amounts of naptha, carbon black and TFE resin together to mix, load, and apply hydraulic press.

Principle Duties (includes, but may not be limited to):

Measure amounts of naphtha, carbon-black and TFE resin together and mix in rotary mixers.

Load mix into preformed molds, seal and apply hydraulic press.

Unload preforms from press chambers and move to extruder area.

Load preforms into extruder and extrude into water and tray.

Transfer green strength liner and tray to trees and transfer trees to sintering ovens.

Inspect all work for defects (TQC) in accordance with manufacturing and QC specifications.

Perform material handling functions using hand trucks, carts, and crane systems.

Report production and labor on VDT and work order traveler.

Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE :

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Must be able to lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance, any parts weighing over 50lbs requires a team lift.

Must have basic blueprint reading skills to interpret engineering drawings and specifications necessary to perform job.

Must have basic math skills including addition/subtraction of fractions and decimal values for determining material, manufacturing and inspection requirements.

Must have ability to read measuring instruments not limited to but including: tape measure, thickness gage, balance scales, micrometers and calipers.

Must have good hand-eye coordination, grip strength and dexterity to handle and produce products using hand and machine tools at established production standards.
