• High School Diploma or GED supplemented by specialized advanced training in building construction, building inspection, or a closely related field, and two (2) years of experience in housing construction and/or inspection.
• Valid South Carolina driver's license.

The Construction Inspector, under limited supervision, manages the construction, rehabilitation, and inspection of houses financed through the City and administered by the Community Services Division. The Construction Inspector works under general supervision and reports to the Community Services Manager. Work includes construction/rehabilitation project management, housing and zoning code inspection and enforcement, coordination and oversight of services provided by outside contractors, and general maintenance of the City Center building. Performs other duties as assigned.
