The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in an industrial setting. This role ensures that electrical components operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with electrical codes and company standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with high-voltage systems, motor controls, PLCs, and industrial automation.
Pay and Benefits
- Pay Range $29.55-41.48 based on mechanical and electrical skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain electrical systems including motors, drives, lighting, power distribution panels, and control systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems using testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, ammeters, meggers) and repair or replace faulty components.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Install and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other automation systems.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA safety standards.
- Complete lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and follow company safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including repairs, inspections, and parts usage.
- Collaborate with mechanical maintenance, and operations teams to ensure seamless equipment operation.
- Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and breakdowns during production.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or associate degree in electrical or industrial maintenance preferred.
- Licensed journeyman or master electrician (if required by local/state regulations).
- 3+ years of experience as an industrial electrician in a manufacturing, processing, or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and troubleshooting practices.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and electrical test instruments.
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and control systems preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, or in noisy/hot environments.
- Able to wear required PPE and work extended shifts or on-call as needed.
