Safety Manager

Required Skills

7+ years of safety experience including 3+ years of direct supervisory experience.

A bachelor's degree in safety or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Broad and detailed regulatory, training, inspection, and auditing knowledge.

Construction or manufacturing industry experience is required.

Basic knowledge of compliance relating to DOT, MSHA, and other federal regulations is preferred.

Ability to manage priorities, and strong time management and organizational skills.

Ability to professionally manage a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrate professionalism and conduct that sets an example of the core values of the organization.

Ability to communicate with and present information to senior leaders and customers.

Willingness to work overtime as needed during periods of shutdown or peak activity.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Promote a positive and proactive safety culture through behaviors and actions.

Review and update written programs, audits, and accident investigations.

Track incident metrics and trends and apply findings.

Manage worker's compensation incidents in a confidential manner that meets the needs of the employee and the company.

Communicate and collaborate with business partners, regulatory agencies, and employees regarding safety requirements and opportunities.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards.

Communicate issues, trends, regulatory updates, and training materials to employees, leadership, and direct reports.

Responsible for the development and performance management of direct reports.
