The Carpenter II requires precision fitting and careful installation. As the finished product is in full view to be seen, the product must have smooth even surfaces and installed to fit precisely. They must calculate and cut compound angles exactly, fit smooth trim pieces on rough textured surfaces that are neither plumb nor square, create a gap-free joint, skill to shape and fit wood until it is perfect. The understanding of measuring and cutting must be accurate; as precise installation is the essence of finish carpentry. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporations policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for creating and maintaining a safe working environment.
2. Responsible for repair, maintenance and recommendation for purchasing of carpentry equipment.
3. Assume responsibility for layouts and joinery choices; as there may be times when the architects plans and details may not show the finish work details.
4. Must be able to calculate loads and tolerance.
5. Write up bills for materials, develop cut lists and on some jobs have to design the trim elements from the ground up.
6. Material take off and layout of finish elements.
7. Preparation of interior surfaces to receive finish work.
8. Hanging and trim out of interior doors.
9. Trim out of interior window casings and jamb extensions.
10. Installation of running moldings such as base, cornice, chair and picture rails.
11. Installation of wainscotings and other types of wall paneling.
12. Installation of wood strip or paneled ceilings, as well as applied beams, posts and corbels.
13. Fabrication and installation of closet shelving and clothing poles.
14. Installation of wood flooring.
15. Installation of factory made cabinetry.
16. Fabrication and installation of fireplace surrounds and mantels.
17. Installation of interior stairways and balustrades.
18. Installation and trim out of entry ways.
19. Installation of door and bathroom hardware.
20. Evaluate industry developments and recommends appropriate uses to management.
21. Ensure all products meet standards set by the department and appropriate agencies.
22. Responsible for the guiding of the day-to-day operations of the on-site carpenters including the training of staff and the planning and scheduling of work performed by other carpenters and subcontractors. Also, responsible for the instruction of work safety practices/procedures of employees and subcontractors in regards to special projects.
23. Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.
24. Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.
25. Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
26. Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.
27. Attend all necessary meetings.
28. Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:
1. Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
2. High school diploma or its equivalency required.
3. Must have (10) ten years professional work experience in carpentry.
4. Previous customer service experience preferred.
5. Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and be able to substantiate a safe driving record within the parameters acceptable to our liability insurance carrier.

Language Skills and Reasoning Ability:
1. Must possess excellent communication skills.
2. Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
3. Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
4. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud. Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.

3. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.

1. Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid Non-Gaming license.
2. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
3. Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
4. Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.

Salary Starting Rate: $26.31

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
