Summary
Are you passionate about safety and eager to lead with impact? As a Safety Manager, you will be at the forefront of our safety initiatives, ensuring that our commitment to a safe working environment is realized across all job sites. You will work closely with our Corporate Environmental, Health, and Safety Director to champion and elevate our safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Safety Training Program: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety policies and procedures in collaboration with the Safety team and Corporate EHS Director.
- Conduct Safety Inspections: Perform regular safety inspections and monitor job sites to ensure compliance with the TALCO Safety Program.
- Engage in Safety Education: Conduct both formal and informal safety training sessions for diverse groups, including jobsite personnel and subcontractors.
- Support Incident Analysis: Assist in the review and investigation of accidents and near misses, crafting detailed reports with risk assessments and recommendations.
- Champion Loss Mitigation: Develop preconstruction activity loss information and strategies to minimize potential losses.
- Oversee Safety Awards Program: Manage and evaluate the Safety Award Incentives to encourage safe practices.
- Facilitate Training Sessions: Lead OSHA 10- and 30-hour, First Aid/CPR, and NCDOT-approved Flagger training classes.
- Collaborate on Employment Law Policies: Coordinate with People Services to ensure alignment with policies, procedures, and initiatives, including the Alcohol and Drug Free Awareness program.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in safety or equivalent certifications/experience.
- Experience: At least five years in construction safety management.
- Certifications: Preferably an OSHA 10/30 Trainer, First Aid/CPR Instructor, Flagger Instructor, and (EM 385) instructor.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of current OSHA 1926 standards.
- Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, PPT, and familiarity with Procore, Site Docs, and Vista.
- Additional Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- License: Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
