Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented
Commercial Electricianto join our team. The ideal candidate will have
extensive experience in electrical installations and maintenance within commercial settingswith a strong emphasis on data center environments. This role involves working on construction sites, interpreting blueprints and schematics, and ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). The successful applicant will be proficient in both high voltage and low voltage systems, demonstrating a strong understanding of logic controllers and the use of various power tools.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial buildings.
- Specialize in infrastructure and power systems specific to data centers, including backup power, grounding, and cooling systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout of electrical systems.
- Work with low voltage systems, including security systems, lighting controls, and data cabling.
- Utilize power tools and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Ensure all work complies with NEC standards and local building codes.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure project timelines are met.
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or necessary repairs.
- Provide excellent customer service while interacting with clients on-site.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Commercial Electrician or similar role in a construction environment.
- Demonstrated experience working in live data center environments or mission-critical facilities is required.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including both high voltage and low voltage applications.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics accurately.
- Familiarity with logic controllers and their applications in commercial settings.
- Ability to operate various power tools safely and effectively.
- Understanding of NEC regulations and commitment to safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
