Summary StatementThe focus of the Public Cloud Infrastructure Engineer II is onimplementing the architecture and the engineering processes and best practicesto enable the foundational infrastructure (compute, network, storage, andservice availability) required for application hosting in a publiccloud. Primary duties are for all aspects of the infrastructure including,but not limited to, design, provisioning, cloud management tooling, monitoring,and orchestration.

Incumbents work under general supervision of a TelecomTechnologist Lead. Employees are assigned duties that provideskilled technical support and project leadership to solve complex business andtechnology problems. The Public Cloud Infrastructure Engineer II serves as aprimary point of contact that partners with internal business and developmentstakeholders to develop infrastructure architecture that supports the rapidly growingand evolving infrastructure needs. The role is responsible for maintaining andcreating relevant and up-to-date infrastructure documentation for all deployedsystems and cross-training. The Public Cloud Infrastructure Engineer II servesas the Level/Tier 3 support and escalates more complex issues. Providestraining and mentoring for less experienced team members as needed.

- Cloud Architecture/Engineering/Security related certifications preferred.

- Build, design, deploy, maintain and lead the implementation of public cloud infrastructure solutions across multiple offerings, e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
- Manage and optimize public cloud environments in accordance with DTI security guidelines.
- Provide foundational infrastructure for public cloud (compute, storage, network, security, and service availability).
- Provide developer-friendly cloud onboarding, account creation and management for supported cloud providers.
- Provide cloud network services to enable a fast and resilient hybrid cloud with built in security capabilities.
- Collaborate with engineering and developer teams to identify and implement optimal cloud-based solutions.
- Deliver industry standard tooling and capabilities needed to enable a public cloud strategy.
- Utilize industry standard tools and best practices to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management.
- Provide products to engineering teams including centralized logging, monitoring and alerting
- Deploy and debug cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Develop, cascade, and enforce engineering best practices using modern Software Design Life Cycle (SDLC) that enables CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous delivery) and favors automation, auditability, automated testing, infrastructure, and policy as code.
- Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated guidance as required.
- Interact programmatically with Application Programming Interfaces to deliver automated solutions.
- Provide technical leadership in the design of highly complex cloud systems.
- Drive client satisfaction by identifying and developing process improvement and automation initiatives while ensuring compliance of solutions to operations roadmap.
JOB REQUIREMENTS for DTI SeniorTelecom Technologist
Applicantsmust have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence ineach of the following areas:
- Possess a minimum of two years of experience automating tasks with a scripting language.
- Possess a minimum of two years of experience developing CI/CD pipelines.
- Possess a minimum of four years of experience working in a distributed, cloud-based environment using Azure/AWS/GCP
- Possess a minimum of one year of experience working with Microsoft Office applications and virtual meeting tools.
- Possess good communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
