PacMar Technologies LLC, a privately-owned defense contractor, is seeking a Purchasing Agent. The incumbent will join a group of talented Engineers, Scientist, Innovators and Program Managers devoted to solving novel technological problems with national defense implications in the fields of Maritime Platform Design and Prototyping, Power and Energy, Autonomy and Data Science, and Advanced Materials and Manufacturing. General Description:

The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree (with two years of experience) or Bachelor's degree in supply management, finance or business. The individual will support our mainland team in managing ordering of products, researching product availability and costs, confirm correctness of products delivered, and develop relationship with vendors to ensure excellent customer service. The individual may also be requested to complete special projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage ordering of products, receipts, and relationship with vendors.
  • Research product availability and costs.
  • Develop an effective and accurate system for monitoring purchase orders and back orders.
  • Accurately follow vendor procedures for purchase order placement.
  • Buy product by the forecasted needs and consider total cost including freight.
  • Process returns to vendors.
  • Ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders and report any back ordered or missing products.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by management.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Associate's degree in supply management, finance or business with two years of related experience. A Bachelor's degree in supply management, finance or business may be substituted for two years of experience.
  • Intermediate keyboarding skills and knowledge and skills using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Intermediate skill using typical office equipment: copier, calculator, printer, scanner, and pager.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Maintain a professional working environment and attitude.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to effectively deal with difficult customers.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate proficiently to complete required reports, and interact with others.

Other Position Requirements:

  • Employment is contingent upon successfully passing an employee background check and post-offer drug screen.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent Resident of the U.S. due to Export Control purposes.
