Construction Estimator - Senior Essential Job Functions ? Analyzerequests for proposals and other documentation to prepare detailed time,cost, materials, and labor estimates. ? Prepare and assemble bids andproposals for various contract types. (Lump Sum, Guaranteed MaximumPrice, Cost Plus, etc.) ? Conduct site visits in preparation for bid. ?Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors. ?Serve as liaison with subcontractors, design team (architects,engineers, consultants) and client. distributing information. ? Developa value analysis study by defining alternatives to the proposed scopethat are more cost-efficient yet acceptable to client. ? Prepare scoperequisitions for assigned trades as required; coordinate with projectteam to eliminate scope gaps and overlaps. ? Prepare comparison analysisto previous estimates for assigned scope. ? Obtain and evaluatesubcontractor proposals relative to their scope of work. ? Manage actionitems from post bid and finalize subcontract scope. ? Occasionallyperform duties outside scope of job description. Qualifications ?Minimum 8 years continuous experience in construction industry orequivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. ?Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft OfficeSuite. ? Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. ? Abilityto read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings,specifications, scopes of work and project schedule. ? Ability to followdirections, work with minimal supervision and exercise discretion andjudgment regarding matters of significance. ? Prior experience withfederal construction projects is highly desired. ? Valid driver\'slicense. ? Ability to pass background check and drug test and obtainsecurity clearance as needed.
