This role requires expertise in industrial electrical systems, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical issues in production machinery, power distribution systems, and control panels.Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime.Installation & Upgrades:Install and wire new equipment, motors, and control systems.Upgrade outdated electrical systems to improve efficiency and meet regulatory standards.Safety & Compliance:Ensure all electrical work complies with safety regulations and codes (e.g., NFPA, OSHA).Test and inspect electrical systems to identify potential hazards or code violations.Control Systems:Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and other automation systems.Program and modify PLC systems to optimize machine performance.Documentation & Reporting:Maintain accurate records of electrical repairs, installations, and inspections.Report any major issues or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.Collaboration:Work closely with the maintenance team, machine operators, and engineers to resolve electrical and mechanical issues.Provide technical guidance and training to team members as needed.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical school or apprenticeship preferred.Journeyman Electrician license (or equivalent) required.Certifications in industrial electrical systems or automation are a plus.Experience:3+ years of experience as an industrial electrician, preferably in a manufacturing or paper production environment.Skills:Strong knowledge of electrical codes, wiring diagrams, and schematics.Proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, and motor control systems.Ability to work with high-voltage equipment safely.Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is advantageous.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Work EnvironmentMay require working in a noisy, dusty, or hot environment typical of paper manufacturing facilities.Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.Availability to work shifts, weekends, and on-call rotations as needed.Be a Part of Something Bigger.
