The Lead Welder serves as the primary resource for the team of Production Welders and ensures high quality welding. This individual is responsible for maintaining and enhancing operations by instructing and coordinating activities for team members, ensuring process quality is maintained and enhanced through following established process protocols, trains new people in quality, safety, and environmental work instructions and provides feedback to the Production Manager on performance.**Primary Responsibilities:**- Ensure that your team is working in a clean, safe work environment by making sure 5S and PPE requirements are met daily.- Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.- Organize, assign, and prioritize work orders to meet production goals and ensure optimum efficiency.- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects, while providing guidance and support to manufacturing personnel on quality-related matter- Mentors and trains new employees by offering constructive feedback and coaching.- Develop productivity rates for your specific work center and document the daily production within the Teams dashboard.- Works with management to improve production flow and any continuous improvement opportunities/ideas.- Ensure material and labor issuing is being properly done daily in Epicor- ensuring that team members are properly logged into a job at the start and throughout the shift, while also clocking in/out for lunch.- As business fluctuates, communicate staffing concerns and solutions to your manager.- Lead your team by demonstrating the utmost professionalism.- Ensure all annual and daily equipment inspections are complete and properly documented.- Use Outlook and Teams messaging as a communication tool, ensuring to answer emails within 24 hours.**Work Center Specific Responsibilities:**- Assists production welders in resolving weld or equipment problems- by being able to detect, locate, and repair weld defects and equipment (welders, helmet, curtains, cords, etc.) issues.- Develop and communicate visual acceptable quality weld standards for the team.- Should have a basic knowledge and use of welding processes like MIG, TIG, and stick.**Position Qualifications:**- HS Diploma/GED- 5 years in welding/metal fabrication- 3 years of experience in quality control preferred- CWB certification preferred- Basic construction knowledge preferred- Ability to read drawings, decipher field reports, utilize excel**Why Prospiant?**- Complete Benefits Package: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, STD/LTD, 401(k) with company match- Opportunities for career development and advancement- Dynamic workplace- Paid volunteer time off- Education assistance- Referral bonus- Annual bonus opportunity- Opportunity to get involved with employee resource groups and engagement eventsGibraltar is an Equal Opportunity Employer; and considers applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, creed, gender, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, marital or veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected status.
