About the Role
Spiegelworld is looking for a Head Carpenter to join the team at Atomic Saloon at the Venetian in Las Vegas. This position is responsible for the show crew in the daily operation of the show as well as operating their own show track daily. Included in the scope is assistance with the maintenance, inspection, and operation of rigging and carpentry equipment on site according topany policies. This position reports directly to the Production Manager. This is a full-time position that pays $44/hour. The typical workweek consists of Tuesday-Saturday 3pm-11pm, but may vary.
What You'll Do
Run the show track as designed
Daily and Weekly equipment inspections of equipment
Preventative maintenance on Carpentry and Rigging show equipment.
Actively engage in our antiracistmitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and weing workspace
Create a work environment which promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
Maintain up to date documentation and show files related to Carpentry and Rigging, including maintenance reports, and show cue tracks
Maintain a good working relationship with vendors, and being onsite for vendor inspections
Train subs for show coverage as well as keeping existing subs updated on show change
Track consumables and spares that are applicable to the department and requesting restocking orders from the Production Manager in a timely manner
Collaborate with other departments as needed to run performances and rehearsals
Weekly schedule of crew members in collaboration with Production Manager
Participate in all required safety and emergency rescue trainings, as directed
Establish trust-based relationships with the performers
Cross train in both the props track as well as the automation track
Other duties as assigned by your manager
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Spiegelworld policies, practices, and procedures.
What You Bring
At least 5 years of experience in Professional Theatrical environments
Minimum 2 years of experience in the crew leadership role
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
An Ideal candidate will provide evidence of continuing education in associated fields
Comfortable using tools and supplies required for maintenance of scenery
Familiarity with automation / rigging systems
Familiarity with inspecting acrobatic circus equipment
Able to work in a nightlife atmosp with loud music and flashing lights
Must have a strong ability to manage and prioritize a multitude of projects, and delegate when appropriate.
Current OSHA 10 and ability to maintain proper safety and sanitation standards
Use of Microsoft Suite as well as being generallyputer savvy
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an always changing, never dull, creative environment
Exceptional work ethic, strong attention to detail andanization, and a collaborative attitude
Ability to exhibit extreme patience
Exceptional interpersonal andmunication skills
Must be team-oriented and self-motivated
Passion for ensuring you consistently deliver the highest standards
At least 21 years of age
Must have valid work authorization for the US
Successful background check clearance prior to hire
