About This Role:

This is a high visibility role for a cost champion that impacts with a positive outlook, has strong influencing abilities, and has a bias for driving action. This role will collaborate with and influence key stakeholders in engineering, sourcing, operations, and in specific business units within Carrier. The ideal candidate will have technical, and cost knowledge required to understand the impacts of design, supply chain, and manufacturing changes on the material cost of parts, subassemblies, and finished products.

Job Description:

Champion and lead VAVE activities and global cost reduction initiatives across Carrier's multiple business units.

Plan, lead and facilitate the execution of VAVE cost events, coordinating, and indirectly leading resources across the global business units to achieve material productivity targets for the organization.

Provide subject-matter expertise in product design for value and cost, and assist in the evaluation, scoping, and maturing of key cost-out projects as identified during the year.

Deliverables will include developing a project pipeline process of vetted, ready-to-implement cost-savings opportunities for the business.

Travel up to 25% to global sites to lead and facilitate cost reduction events

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

4+ years of experience in material productivity

2+ years of experience with Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE) or other product/material cost reduction activities

1+ years of experience leading and facilitating cost out events with large numbers of participants from engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and supplier representatives

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, or similar technical track

3+ years of Program Management experience, developing and executing program plans with product development and/or cost reduction initiatives, resource planning, and budgeting

Strong experience working with factories in implementing mechanical or electrical designs. Experience analyzing Bill of Materials (BOMs), drawings, etc.

Experience leading, planning, and facilitating VAVE events including product and part tear downs

Creativity and innovative thinking will be key to success in this role

Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills and ability to work across organizational functions including Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, and Operations

Knowledge of industry suppliers, fabricators, and other resources that can be evaluated for potential opportunities would be a plus

Strong facilitation, team building, collaboration, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills

Ability to prepare and deliver key program metrics and internal/external presentations

Experience in product development engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing are all beneficial

PTC Creo experience

MRP Experience

Proficiency in MS Office including Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Experience with costing software tools like aPriori, Tset or similar software tools also would be beneficial.

Pay Range:

$109,456 - $191,938 Annually
