About the Role
As a Structural Engineer at Z Modular, you will play a key role in contributing to the design and development of modular steel buildings. This position requires expertise in structural analysis and design, as well as the ability to collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to solve complex engineering challenges. You will work on groundbreaking projects, from the pre-design phase to fabrication and on-site installation, while helping to establish the design standards that will shape the future of modular building systems.

You will collaborate with design teams, architects, and MEP engineers, ensuring the integration of structural elements into the overall building system. This is a on-site role located in Chandler, AZ.

What Youll Do
Performs structural analysis and design for innovative steel modular structures.
Develops robust steel connection designs and optimizes them for modular construction.
Creates and maintains design spreadsheets to streamline calculations and improve efficiency.
Conducts comprehensive structural code reviews to ensure compliance with local and national standards.
Drafts and revises structural plans and details using the latest software tools.
Collaborates closely with design teams to integrate structural elements with architectural and MEP systems.
Maintains consistent communication with on-site teams to address challenges and optimize the installation process.
Performs weekly site visits to local projects, providing real-time feedback and ensuring construction quality aligns with design intent.

Who You Are
Bachelors Degree in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering with a focus on structural design.
Minimum of 5+ years in structural engineering, with a focus on the analysis and design of steel structures.
Professional Engineer (PE) license, with the capacity to acquire additional state licensures as needed.
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel.
Experience with structural analysis programs such as RISA-3D, ETABS, SAP2000, or similar.
Familiarity with Revit is a plus but not required.
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
