Support high-level space operations as an Operations Planner, Craftsman (RF Spectrum Management) at Schriever Space Force Base. In this mission-critical role, you’ll provide subject matter expertise in MILSATCOM payload and spectrum management to enable realistic, integrated planning for U.S. Space Force exercises and warfighting readiness.

Salary Range: $145,000 – $159,000

Essential Duties

Spectrum Management & Integration

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on RF spectrum and MILSATCOM payload management for U.S. Space Force exercises.
  • Integrate and synchronize MILSATCOM and Space Electronic Warfare (SEW) training objectives during exercise development.
  • Coordinate spectrum management activities with relevant C2 elements, payload units (e.g., 53 SOPS, 10 SOPS), and SEW units (e.g., 4 EWS, 16 EWS).

Exercise Design & Support

  • Participate in planning conferences, working groups, and training events to shape the execution of 392 CTS-supported exercises.
  • Represent key payload management organizations within the Exercise Control Group (ECG) and White Cell during events.
  • Provide realistic exercise inputs to facilitate spectrum and MILSATCOM training objectives.

Analysis, Reporting & Documentation

  • Capture and report lessons learned throughout exercise planning and execution phases.
  • Support hot washes, debriefs, and After Action Report (AAR) development.
  • Prepare planning and event documents including meeting minutes, trip reports, and exercise products.

Tool Integration & Resource Planning

  • Integrate existing and emerging spectrum management tools and modeling/simulation capabilities into exercises.
  • Recommend and track personnel, equipment, and funding resources needed to support MILSATCOM payload training.
  • Collaborate with training organizations to align academic instruction with exercise goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of space operations experience .
  • Strong understanding of RF spectrum fundamentals and analysis tools.
  • Experience supporting or managing MILSATCOM payload missions .
  • Knowledge of MILSATCOM capabilities, limitations, C2 structures, and end-user mission requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing or executing exercises involving spectrum management or RF interference .
  • Familiarity with WSOC operations and hands-on MILSATCOM payload management.
  • Previous support to combatant commands, services, or international partners in payload communications.
  • SPACE FLAG participation or USAF Weapons School graduate status is a plus.

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).

Required Clearance

  • Top Secret / SCI (TS/SCI) – must be active at the time of hire.

Travel

  • Limited travel required (approximately 4–5 weeks per year).
