Our client is seeking a Head Estimator to lead our estimating team, drive strategic bidding efforts, and ensure the accuracy and profitability of our project estimates. As the Head Estimator , you will lead and manage the estimating team, oversee project bids, and implement strategies that drive company success. You will work closely with General Contractors, negotiate contracts, and provide valuable insights to shareholders through performance reports. Additionally, you will mentor and develop your team to enhance their estimating skills and overall department efficiency. Job Function: Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Oversee the estimating team, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Estimating & Bidding: Oversee the preparation of detailed estimates for custom acoustical panels in commercial and residential projects. Architectural Drawing Analysis: Read and analyze architectural drawings to extract project details and ensure accurate takeoffs. Strategic Development: Implement innovative estimating tactics to increase profitability and project win rates. Contract Negotiation: Collaborate with General Contractors to negotiate contracts and terms that align with company objectives. Performance Reporting: Prepare and present performance reports to shareholders, providing insights into department achievements and financial outcomes. Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with sales, design, and production teams to ensure seamless project execution. Process Optimization: Develop and refine estimating workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency. Job Requirement: Qualifications: Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in acoustical or specialty interiors. Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and estimating principles. Architectural Drawing Proficiency: Must be able to read and analyze architectural drawings to extract relevant details for estimating. Software Proficiency: Must be proficient in Bluebeam, Excel, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook . Negotiation Skills: Ability to work with General Contractors and stakeholders to secure favorable project terms. Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and profitability. Education: Bachelor's degree in construction management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
