Job Description:

Opening for a full-time Mechanical Technician with a well-established company in Washburn. Full-Time/Days; 6:00 AM 6:00 PM, or Full-Time/Nights; 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM. $22.00-$24.00/hr., depending on experience.

The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on the facilitys production line machinery. The employee will troubleshoot mechanical problems, replace defective parts, and conduct routine inspections, cleaning, and repairs to ensure that all systems in the plant are working at optimal capacity. Ideal candidate will have at least 3-4 years of experience in factory maintenance, working knowledge of how to use welding/fabrication tools, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and upkeep on production equipment and mechanical systems.
• Inspect facility equipment on a daily basis, performing various production startup and coverage tasks.
• Troubleshoot problems with PLC, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
• Repair damaged machinery, plumbing, and electrical systems by installing and threading pipe, welding, soldering and/or cutting.
• Respond to call-in requests to perform emergency repairs on equipment during off hours.
• Assist with the set up and installation of new equipment.
• Properly clean and lubricate machinery as needed.
• Maintain a sanitary working environment and adhere to all policies and procedures related to food safety.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and precautions as directed.
• Participate in and adhere to all HazMat, Confined Space and LOTO trainings.
• Report potential safety hazards to appropriate parties in a timely manner.
• Perform other tasks as requested by site supervisor.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent education required. Advanced education or training in machinery repair is highly valued.
• Three or more years of professional experience as a machinery technician.
• Previous experience with welding or parts fabrication.
• Ability to move/lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.

Schedule: Full-Time/Nights; 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM. Some on-call availability required.
Pay: $22.00-$24.00/hr. with benefits; PTO, health/dental/vision insurance, and retirement account.
