Perform works involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of the facility in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting, boiler making, insulating, welding, machining, carpentry, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment, and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs. Proficient in the use of tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices. Perform routine preventive maintenance on all equipment according to schedule to maximize equipment uptime and ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of the buildings does not deteriorate. Responsibilities Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipment. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine root causes for equipment failure or degradation, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary. Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers or obtain them from storerooms at the direction of the Maintenance Manager. Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment. Essential Skills Proficiency in maintenance technician skills including electrical and mechanical tasks. Minimum 3 years' experience as Maintenance support in a manufacturing/production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Minimum of a High School diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate). Valid PIT (Powered Industrial Truck/Forklift certificate/license) upon hire or obtain certification within 30 days of hire. Relevant experience may be substituted for the education requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager or Plant manager. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
