Licensed Journeyman Plumber Job Description The Licensed Journeyman Plumber installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing systems in commercial settings, including grease, water, sanitary waste, and gas systems. This role involves reading blueprints, installing equipment like water heaters and sump pumps, and safely using tools and inspection cameras. The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and adherence to OSHA and company safety standards. Responsibilities Proficiently install or repair potable, sanitary waste, combined waste, and grease systems within a commercial environment. Perform concrete demolition, doweling, rough patch pours, backfilling, and compaction of work areas as needed. Conduct excavation work, including digging, installing support braces, and shoring as needed. Install grease interceptors, traps, and sump pumps. Properly install or repair commercial plumbing systems. Install commercial gas, electric water heaters, and tankless water heaters. Safely operate and use cable machines and cameras for line locating and inspection. Work according to safety guidelines, OSHA, and workplace policies. Operate and store power tools safely. Interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and schematics proficiently. Accurately write detailed reports and communicate with interoffice personnel. Comfortably work in confined spaces and perform overhead tasks from scissor lifts. Collaborate with other trades to ensure efficient completion of projects. Display willingness to take on additional duties or projects as assigned. Practice customer and company confidentiality. Pay attention to all details when working with information. Exhibit attentive and perceptive listening skills. Maintain professional and confident verbal and written communication skills. Engage in a professional demeanor and contribute to rapport and unity within the department. Maintain a positive, poised manner that is respectful of others. Quickly process information and respond appropriately. Apply training to department situations. Proficiently use data entry, databases, the internet, and related technology to complete tasks. Demonstrate work ethics and integrity that align with company goals. Essential Skills Four or more years of experience as a commercial plumber. Valid and current Journeyman Plumber License issued by the State of Hawaii. Ability to provide and maintain your own basic hand tools. Manual dexterity required for tasks involving gripping, grasping, and twisting motions. Proper personal protection equipment including a hard hat, hi-vis vest, safety glasses, ear protection, and safety-rated shoes or boots. Valid driver's license with an insurable driving report.
