The Senior Civil Engineer - PE will provide an excellent opportunity to be part of the Civil Team Leadership Group. This role involves leading with strong technical skills to solve site development civil challenges for clients, as well as contributing to the civil team's continuous improvement efforts in setting up design processes, QAQC checklists, and strong production drawing and modeling templates (Civil 3D).

The work encompasses a variety of projects across local, regional, and national scales, serving diverse clients in sectors such as Federal Government, Local Municipal, Retail, Commercial, Healthcare, and Industrial. This role will allow individuals to lead large multi-million-dollar, multi-discipline projects or oversee numerous smaller projects while mentoring civil designers and technicians.

Skills

Professional Engineer (PE) license required (multi-state)

Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D software

Familiarity with current design trends and local codes

Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing

Ability to prepare proposals for projects, including estimating fees

Ability to accommodate overnight travel by car and by air

Familiarity with industry standards for civil design and illustration

Responsibilities

Technical completion of civil engineering site development projects

Scope definition, feasibility studies, design proposal development

Preparation of design narratives, formal engineering reports, and specification reviews

Conduct design calculations and system modeling

Review geotechnical reports and site surveys

Participate in client review meetings and city development meetings

Document site construction observation reports and formal meeting documentation

Answer construction and bid requests for information

Collaborate with in-house and remote teams

Qualifications

5-10 years of experience in civil design

Background in architectural/build environment preferred

Experience leading or managing engineering projects

Strong ability to thrive within a multi-discipline team environment

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
