MEP Construction Manager

MEP MANAGER - LARGE COMMERCIAL DESIGN/BUILD - GENERAL CONSTRUCTION

The MEP Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of MEP systems across construction projects. This position ensures that all mechanical and electrical systems are integrated seamlessly into the project, meet quality standards, and are delivered on time and within budget. The MEP Manager will work closely with subcontractors, commissioning authorities, and internal project teams to manage scopes, schedules, and system coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and select a qualified list of MEP bidders tailored to each specific project.

• Develop detailed bid scopes for MEP bidding documents.

• Conduct interviews with shortlisted bidders and negotiate to secure the most qualified and cost-effective MEP teams.

• Coordinate scopes of work with controls, sprinkler, and fire alarm subcontractors.

• Review subcontractor scopes, establish project schedules, and set key performance milestones.

• Create and oversee the commissioning schedule from construction through project close-out.

• Coordinate the interface between mechanical and electrical systems and assist in resolving field conflicts and design issues.

• Review and evaluate subcontractor change order proposals for accuracy, scope validity, and cost.

• Organize and manage equipment start-ups, as well as pre-functional and functional testing in collaboration with the commissioning authority.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

• Experience managing MEP systems in commercial construction or related environments.

• Strong understanding of MEP systems, commissioning processes, and project lifecycle.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.

• Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and resolve on-site conflicts effectively.
