Technology Design Engineer - IT/AV Designer

My client is a renowned Consulting Engineering firm. They are seeking a Technology Engineer who is CTS-Certified Technology Specialist, RCDD and architectural drafting background a plus. You will

will work on technology planning projects including Telecom, AV & Security. The incumbent will work with clients, manufacturers, design team members and others preparing construction documentation for each project. Experience should include drafting, designing, preparing specifications, and evaluating bid responses for telecommunications and security trades. This is an in-office position working daily from our New York City office. Primary Responsibilities

The incumbent will serve as a liaison between architects, clients, consultants, and project managers from multiple engineering trades to identify, and implement cabling infrastructure requirements for each individual project.

Must have:

• Minimum of 7 years professional experience in designing and drawing AV and security systems.
• Knowledge of AV and security systems including but not limited to flow diagrams, rack elevations and logical diagrams.
• Hands on experience with creating AV plans, engineering schematics, wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure including cable plant (horizontal & backbone), telecommunication room design, and pathways.
• Familiarity with AV, Security and BICSI standards required.
• Experience with CAD & BIM software including AutoCAD & REVIT.
• CTS-Certified Technology Specialist, RCDD and architectural drafting background a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way, both verbally and in writing.
• Strong Analytical and quantitative skills, and a demonstrated capability for analysis and strategic thinking.
