Summary McElroy Metal, a leading manufacturer of metal roofing and metal building components, currently has an opening for a Maintenance Mechanic at our manufacturing facility located in Bossier City, Louisiana plant. This position repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment and reports to the Production Manager. About the Division The Bossier City location was established in 1963, and is the location for our corporate departments, as well as our first manufacturing facility and a McElroy Service Center onsite. Hours 8:00 am 5:00 pm M-F Responsibilities

• Perform all required electrical/mechanical troubleshooting on Company equipment, obtain necessary replacement parts, and perform required repairs.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, power tools.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspects used parts to determine to changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjusts functional parts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs and straightedges.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts, using hand tools and power tools.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices, using hand tools.
• Starts devices to test their performance.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to make and repair parts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in a mechanical/maintenance-related field.
• Demonstrated ability to perform electronic maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to perform mechanical maintenance.
• Must have the ability to rotate shifts on occasion.
