Opening our doors in 2017 Starlight Homes builds homes designed specifically for the first time homebuyer Our goal is to make the dream of homeownership a reality for everyone offering expertly crafted homes at an affordable price and ensure its customers first journey into home buying is simple smooth and reassuring Our New Home Sales Consultants take care of our customers throughout every step of the process regardless of their situation we are here to help Together with our parent company 2023s Builder of the Year Ashton Woods we have welcomed over 60000 people to their new home Our companys commitment to innovation and continually evolving to meet the needs of the market is a key reason we have seen the success we have Headquartered in Atlanta Georgia Starlight sells new homes in Atlanta Austin Charleston Dallas Houston Jacksonville Myrtle Beach Nashville Orlando Phoenix Raleigh San Antonio and Tampa Overview We are searching for a Director or VP of Construction ie job title based on experience The Director or VP of Construction will effectively and efficiently provide managerial leadership of all construction activities on a division wide basis Hire train and motivate construction staff Work collaboratively with all functional peers to ensure achievement of business plans Ensure quality construction is performed on time within budget resulting in satisfied customers Partner with Purchasing leadership to establish and maintain effective subcontractor base Create and manage programs to deliver consistent customer satisfaction Analyze trends in service work to identify root cause of errors Develop and implement programs to correct root cause of errors Responsibilities Included but not limited to Provide managerial leadership for all areas within construction operationsMaintain relationships with trade partners to ensure positive results and open communicationDrive construction cycle time and build efficiencies to maximize timely delivery of quality productEnsure that construction function is well staffed and competent in technical administrative and customer satisfaction skillsEnsure that construction activities are performed in cost effective mannerDevelop and meet construction department closing and expense budgetsTeam with Sales and Marketing management to ensure coordination and problem solving between the respective organizationSupport Land Development and Acquisition functions as neededWork collaboratively as member of divisional leadership team and corporate team as requestedContinuously communicate any major issues to Division Manager with suggestions for resolutionMaintain warranty expenses within budget and work closely with the customer care representatives to ensure prompt resolution of escalated customer issuesDevelop and implement a service work scheduling process which results in timely completion of workMiscellaneous projects as assigned Qualifications Bachelors Degree with emphasis in Construction Management preferred or equivalent years of direct on site constructionhome building experienceAt least 5 years of direct constructionhome building experienceGeneral Contractors License as requiredValid Drivers License required Skills and Knowledge Knowledgeable about the construction industry including construction cost materials products methods and proceduresMust have thorough knowledge of the trades crafts and equipment needed to complete the job plus the ability to identify potential problemsKnowledge and familiarity with blueprints construction drawings and addendum and readingAbility to multi task and prioritize several tasks without compromising quality of work or mission deadlinesProven organization skills in a high paced work environmentMust be able to use word processing e mail spreadsheets presentation PowerPoint database and newsletter Adobe software for advanced internal and external communications creation of reports and presentations and database maintenanceAbility to review analyze and interpret information as well as trouble shoot to solve problemsKnowledge of Business English and ability to communicate patiently and professionally with both internal and external customers both orally and in writingAbility to adapt in a changing workplace
