Job Description Join a leading organization in the maritime surveillance industry as a Procurement Agent. This position is based in Groton, CT, working onsite every day from Monday to Friday, during the first shift for a total of 40 hours per week. As a Procurement Agent, you will play a crucial role in supporting the procurement of services, materials, and equipment, ensuring timely creation of Purchase Orders and Professional Service Agreements. Responsibilities Report directly to the Procurement Manager while collaborating with other teams. Prepare and route Purchase Orders and Professional Service Agreements for both internal review and external signatures. Provide continuous support for managing 10+ Purchase Order requisition forms. Engage in direct communications with the AP/Finance/Project teams regarding document statuses, project code questions, and quote information. Participate in short- and long-term planning and budgetary development to support strategic business goals. Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with sellers and communicate these efficiently with the General Counsel team. Implement process improvements and cost reduction initiatives. Manage internal documentation to maintain visibility and communication within departments. Ensure all required seller documents are in place when engaging vendors for quotes and estimates. Perform other duties as assigned by the Procurement Manager. Adhere to the internal policies and standards while representing the core values and image of the organization. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 2-3 years in a subcontract management role or similar position demonstrating understanding of supply chain management, subcontract/PO/PSA negotiations, and legal terminology. Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Detail-oriented and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote). Ability to efficiently work in a hybrid environment. Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with government subcontracts and knowledge of FARS. Understanding of Incoterms. Knowledge of the Maritime Industry, particularly vessels and offshore capabilities. Experience in maritime or manufacturing industry preferred. Work Environment The role is based in an office setting located in Groton, CT, requiring onsite presence every day. The position operates during the first shift from Monday to Friday for a total of 40 hours per week. The team size includes collaboration with a Procurement Manager, and you will be provided with initial training and support, though the role requires someone who can hit the ground running. The primary software tools used include Excel and Unitnet. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $36.06/hr.
