Position Summary: JMT is seeking a Survey/CADD Technician to join their growing Surveys & SUE Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall completion of the data processing phase of specific field survey projects. This position is not eligible for employer-based sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Performs topographic plotting, terrain modeling, plat preparation, note reduction and design file generation
- Perform office survey activities in accordance with Minimum Standards of Practice for Surveying
- Operate and supervise the use of all survey equipment including electronic data collectors, levels, electronic total station, GPS and survey vehicles
- Performs office computations necessary for the completion of task assignments including QA/QC
- Tracks job progress
- Completes data collector maintenance
- Coordinates information for stakeout services
- Analyzes raw data for mathematical closure and geometric accuracy
- Prepares finished grade sheets, topographic maps, records of survey, corner records and other survey reports
- Communicates the daily progress of the crew towards the project goals and/or accomplishments with the office staff
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
- Valid Drivers License Required
- Skills in coordinate geometry and trigonometry
