We are seeking a Safety Manager to join our expanding team! This is a full-time position, conducted out of a home office, considering candidates who live in Syracuse, NY, Albany, NY, or the surrounding areas. In addition to contributing as a Safety Professional on project work, you will collaborate closely with Senior Management to oversee and coordinate business opportunities, proposals, project execution, deliverables, and customer interactions.

Primary Responsibilities:

Safety Project Work:

  • Conduct or facilitate various safety projects, including safety training, industrial hygiene, process safety management, SOPs/JSAs, safety programs, and safety audits.
  • Perform comprehensive OSHA and safety management system audits.
  • Work both in the general industry and construction.
  • Coordinate with network partners (subcontractors) to complete project work when internal resources are unavailable.

EHS Risk Manager/EHS Portal (Outsourcing) Customers:

    • Develop a thorough understanding of our outsourcing model with the EHS Risk Manager/EHS Portal processes and technology.
    • Customize EHS Portal sites to meet specific customer needs and applications.
    • Implement and serve as the primary contact for EHS Risk Manager customers.

Project Management:

    • Coordinate project scope and approvals with Senior Management.
    • Manage project activities as Project Manager, including defining scope, assigning staff, overseeing quality checks, and delivering customer results.
    • Maintain project budget and effort control, collaborating with Senior Management and the customer as necessary.
    • Assist with project invoicing and follow-up as needed.

Technology Utilization:

    • Leverage technology tools for effective management of company and customer information.
    • Actively support and promote technology use within the safety team.

Business Development & Proposals:

    • Collaborate with Senior Management on new opportunities with existing and potential customers.
    • Develop and follow up on customer proposals and coordinate proposal reviews with Senior Management.

Technical Safety Expertise:

    • Act as a technical resource on safety standards and best practices for customers.
    • Proactively stay informed on relevant OSHA safety requirements.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience

  • 5+ years of work experience in a safety-related role with in-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent are preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer management and engagement.
  • Proficiency in safety management software and tools

Skills & Abilities

  • Proven communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach.
  • Demonstrated scheduling and time management skills
  • Willing and able to travel locally on a routine basis and domestically approximately up to 25% annually
