Heavy Highway Construction company in South Texas is hiring experienced people to work on our highway crew in Alice, Texas.
Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life. The Operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by his or her supervisor. Different positions available which include: Excavator operator; Maintainer operator; Dozer operator; Roller operator.
Essential Job Functions
Operator must have at least 12 months experience operating the equipment s/he is hired for and be proficient.
Required to verify weights and limits of the operation capacities.
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
Operators may oil, grease or otherwise service and make necessary adjustments to equipment as needed.
May be required to help with ground work when equipment is not being operated.
Operate all heavy equipment (Maintainer Operator, Dozer Operator, Roller Operator & Excavator Operator) in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required
Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored
Advise the Foreman/Superintendent of any requirements for maintenance or repairs
Practice workplace safety
Performs other related duties.
Requirements:
Hs/ged preferred.
Must have 1 year experience in backhoe and/or roller operating work.
Full-time position. Company offers insurance, 401(K) plan and paid vacation.
