- High School Diploma or GED
- Driver's License (driving company vehicles)
- Willing to work in hot crawlspaces and attics
- Complete NATE and EPA 608 certifications
- Pass a background check and motor vehicle report
PREFERENCES
- 2+ years in HVAC installation
JOB DUTIES
- Proactively seek ways to assist and complete work at job sites
- Setting up ductwork, vents, and air distribution systems for proper airflow. Installing HVAC equipment like furnaces, air handlers, indoor coils, and other components
- Checking for airflow efficiency, refrigerant levels, and potential leaks
- Performing routine maintenance, including changing filters and inspecting systems. Diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems as needed
- Understanding system layouts, measurements, and schematics to ensure proper installation
- Other duties as assigned
HOURS: Typically, a 40-hour work week with 10-hour days from Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday. Work usually begins at 7:30AM and continues until the job is completed with occasional overtime.
PAY: $17-$40/hr depending on experience. As an example, a helper with no HVAC experience could start at $17/hr but an experienced Journeyman HVAC installer could start at $40/hr.
EMPLOYER COMMENTS
If no experience, must be willing to participate in on-the-job training and be willing to study for and obtain NATE certification and EPA 608 certification. All study material and exams provided by employer at no cost to employee. Successful candidate will learn gas piping, metal bending, duct sizing, basic electricity, and other skills to successfully install HVAC equipment and gas fireplaces.
